About

Beamingsun.com is dedicated to providing people and businesses a reliable source of information and products related to energy efficiency, resource conservation, and renewable energy. Our primary goal is to teach simple and effective ways to conserve resources and save money.

Together We Have the Power

We support family-owned small businesses that invent or develop environmentally responsible products and services. By providing a platform to promote and sell products, we enable individuals to support their families and contribute to keeping the environment healthy for future generations. The products and services promoted on this site have been reviewed and selected as meeting the highest standards of quality and affordability.

Background

Beamingsun was founded by Jonathan LeClere in 2001 as a web development company. Although Beamingsun has obviously morphed since its inception, I continue to use my skills as a web developer and meld that with my passions for business and the environment. Currently, Beamingsun benefits from the assets of the tremendous folks you’ll see below.

The Team

Jonathan LeClere, Founder

Jonathan LeClere is a web developer by trade and originally founded Beamingsun as a web development firm in 2001. I originally started building websites in 1995 after graduating from Boston University and moving back to my home town, Washington DC. Since then I have worked as a senior developer for CareerBuilder, Lockheed Martin, CSC, and now, the Federal Highway Administrations Recreational Trails Program.

In 2008 I took an existing background and interest in naturalism stoked by the renewed concerns over global warming, and focused all my freelance efforts in converting Beamingsun.com into an ecosite.

Jonathan was born in Warsaw, Poland and raised in Washington DC and Maryland. He graduated from BU with a degree in Psychology, but has been "educated" by the streets of DC and on the rivers and trails in Maryland, Virginia and beyond. He has always had a passion for travel, camping, boating, hiking, and photography. He was raised to respect the environment by being conscious of his personal impact, and by packing out more than packing in.

Jonathan lives in New Market, MD with a wife, 2 daughters, 2 cats, a snake, and a massage bed.

Lance Lessler, Contributing Member

Retired from full-time work for the Federal Government, as a physicist, I am now taking the opportunity to do a lot of things for which I previously had not the time. That includes experimenting with hydroponics in my backyard greenhouse; training my five White German Shepherd dogs; landscaping my new 4-acre homesite; writing articles on energy conservation and renewable energy technology; and writing a futuristic novel. My other interests include evolution of the human mind and consciousness, and tutoring at a local prep school.

Kevin Grauer, Contributing Member

Kevin Grauer has been working as a freelance copy editor and writer since 2008. His goal is to contribute to projects that rattle cages, open minds, and help people see the bigger picture – hopefully doing all of the above to himself as well. Kevin holds a degree in anthropology from Drexel University. His pastimes include hiking and other outdoor activities, reading classic and not-so-classic novels, and enjoying good beverages with good company.
